If you think rock is dead…

The Black Keys are an American rock duo fronted by vocalist/guitarist Dan Auerbach (who we wrote about before) and drummer/producer Patrick Carney. As of October 2011, the band has sold over 2 million albums in the U.S, won 3 Grammys and Rolling Stone magazine placed their album “Brothers” at #2 on the Best Albums of 2010. calling the duo “a two-man combo with a big-band mind. That description seems downright prophetic now. With the hard-rocking El Camino, The Black Keys fourth Nonesuch disc, guitarist-singer Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney conjure up an exhilarating, stadium-sized sound in collaboration with producer and friend Danger Mouse. El Camino boasts a no-nonsense brilliance: The pace is fast, the mood is upbeat, the choruses unfailingly addictive made for shouting along, preferably in a large, sweaty crowd.”

You also might remember when we posted about their other project, Blakroc , which is Dan along with Damon Dash and Patrick bringing out musicians like Mos Def, Raekwon, Q-Tip and a slew of other famous singer/rappers into the studio to produce original vintage garage rock tracks that most MCs and DJs spend years crate digging for.

dig it.
