I can’t believe the holidays are coming up already. The fake Santa’s that look nothing like the depiction of the real fake Santa. All those percussive bell instruments, fake snow and Xmas songs. Not that I am against everything non Jewish, it’s just that the US in December is filled with everything non Jewish. Well, not this Wednesday evening. On Weds the Sephardic Music Festival throws a big Festival Preview Showcase, which they are calling a “Teaser”, since calling it a Festival Preview Showcase is dorky, or just not as sexy. Well, anyway, it’s going to be really amazing since it will also be previewing Galeet Dardashti of Divahn’s new project for the 6 Points Fellowship which is entitled The Naming. She will be joined by the SYREN Modern Dance crew. Since it is indeed a Teaser, SMF also enlisted, Diwon with his entourage of Middle Eastern and Jazz improvisors, Smadar Levi, Elie Massias and Eyal Maoz. If that is not enough, the super group from outer space, Electro Morocco will close out the night!
