DeScribe – “Livin for the Grind (Marley Coffee)” – Video + MP3

When DeScribe bumped into Rohan Marley, son of famed Bob Marley in the street, the two immediately connected over their shared musical interests. Marley then asked DeScribe to create the theme song for his company, Marley Coffee, which supports environmental and social justice causes in Jamaica and around the world. Inspired by Bob Marley’s “One Cup of Coffee,” DeScribe proceeded to mix Jamaican “riddim” and hip-hop to create the world-wide anthem “Livin’ for the Grind” (Marley Coffee).

DeScribe comments, “I don’t know anyone in the world who hasn’t been influenced by the Marley family in some way. When I met Rohan we had this organic connection which was both spiritual and musical. I learned more about the mission of Marley Coffee and was touched by it. Every song I compose comes from an experience that moves me. Marley’s mission is one that is important for the entire world: it’s about responsible farming, stopping pesticides and giving back to the earth that gives so much to us. The Marleys are all about good vibes and music is the best medium to relate the mission and the vibes”.

DeScribe’s signature sound is a unique blend of Hip Hop, Reggae, and R&B. He infuses his vibrant, pulsating, soul-stirring, rhythmic vibe with strong spiritual ethos. An observant Jew, DeScribe’s world view is strongly influenced by the teachings of Chabad Chassidism and the Lubavitcher Rebbe. He views music as a medium to awaken the human soul. Featured on a CBS documentary “Faith, Music, & Culture” (2009), DeScribe takes his musical mission very seriously. His music videos — which include Harmony, Change, and Make It — have garnered over a half a million views.
