Pharaoh’s Daughter @ SMF

One of my all time favorite Jewish groups is Pharaohs Daughter. The group is fronted by Basya Schechter, which sounds hella ashkenaz, well she is half half, but it’s the Sephardic half that shines through her brilliant “Haran” album and it is that same half that will shine at Le Poisson Rouge for the Opening Night of the 4th Annual Sephardic Music Festival. The festival takes place in venues all over NYC throughout the nights of Chanukah (Dec 21st-28th). This is, most definitely, one of the nights not to be missed.
