Balagan just found this on the Hollertronix blog. Crazy! because when Shemspeed asked him for an Israel 60 remix he decided to hit us with an old school funk mix instead, not knowing that at the same freakin time on the other side of the world, Soulico were making a full on Israeli Funk joint. Here tis:
“We’re really excited about this one…
We are proud to present Soulico’s new mixtape titled Archeology
It’s an hour full of Hasidic Disco, Spirutal Soul, Yamanite Funk, Turkish Acid Rock, Arabic Jazz & much more, all recorded & released in Israel by local musicians & artists in the 70’s and early 80’s.
95% of the tunes were never reissued on CD and were kind of obscure even when they originally came out.
This is the result of a decade of digging in Tel-Aviv’s record shops & Flea markets…
It’s an hour long & There’s 31 tracks but we would’nt waste your time with all those funny Israeli names.
